New Nails
On my quest to staying healthy I made a decision to let the acrylic go. I’ve been wearing acrylic nails for years and have enjoyed it. But I look around sometimes and see women with such beautiful nails that happen to be their own. They have such beautiful nail beds and it just looks so natural and pretty. I think my inspiration came from a dear friend of mine Shameeka Ayers. She happened to post a pic of her nails and they were “hers”. They looked so pretty and that was my light bulb moment.
After some thought I decided I could handle my own nails so much better on my own and cut the cost of the refills. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking the acrylic nails since I wore them for so long, I just don’t need them for me anymore. So today, I had them removed and went with a gel manicure. I love it. I love the length which is easier to work with. Gardening season is coming and I do plan on turning some dirt over. Yes I wear gloves but not having the extra tips will be great. As far as health is concerned, my belief is my natural nail will receive oxygen and grow nice and healthy. Fortunately, there was no fungus or discoloration when the acrylic came off. I’m happy with my decision and will continue with the designs.

Good for you girl! Several months ago, I had gel polish applied to my nails and they have not been the same since. I am trying to get my normally beautiful and healthy natural nails back to where they used to be. Enjoy your fresh, natural nails!
